General Information
Homework
Every teacher sets homework and we encourage parents to assist and encourage their children. Homework gives students an opportunity to revise spelling and basic mathematics facts or complete assignments. Often it is an independent research assignment or a creative activity. Independent study at home develops good habits for later in a child’s education and pupils at the intermediate school age are ready to start developing these good habits.
Attendance and Pupil Safety
It is essential that we know the whereabouts of every student and so it is important that parents contact us if your child is to be absent for any reason. If you don’t contact us we will try to reach your family by telephone. The school can be contacted from 8.00am.
Our school day is:
8.50am - 12.40pm
12.40pm - 1.25pm (LUNCH)
1.25PM - 3.00pm
Regular and punctual attendance is essential.
Canteen
Pupils can purchase their lunch at the school canteen. Orders are placed each morning in class. The canteen is open at interval and lunchtime.
PUPILS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL AT ANY TIME DURING THE SCHOOL DAY WITHOUT BEING ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR CAREGIVER. Experience has shown that leaving the grounds to purchase lunch elsewhere or going to a friend’s house for lunch can lead to unfortunate consequences.
